Organising your Binders

It is a good idea to carefully plan the structure of your Binders and Lists before you start using Luumin. The better you organise your Binders, the more useful the application will be. There is no single way to set things up, but this article will give you a few tips.

Thinking about the different areas of your life
The first thing to do is thing about the different areas of your life and how the different things you do divide into different groups. Your Binders should be the big categories and the Lists that live within these Binders will be slightly more specific areas of your life.

Example (Binders are bold in  and Lists second):

  • Health and Fitness
  • Friends and Relatives
  • Career Development
  • Christmas Gifts
My Family
  • Summer Vacation
  • Children’s Education
  • Home Renovations
  • Tax and Finances
Work Admin
  • H.R.Training
  • Annual Budget
  • Christmas Party
  • Acme Limited
  • Yellow Submarine Inc
  • Bob’s Bagels
  • PLC
  • Chipolata Stationery
In this example, there are two binders for work life and two for personal. Within each binder, there are 4 different lists. This will provide a nice clear split of the main areas in the user’s life. If it turns out this split isn’t quite right, that’s not a problem, they can easily be changed.
