Do more, be better

I could never run 1,000 miles. I can run 1 mile 1,000 times.

The question we’ve heard more than any other in the last year is, “so when are you launching?”

It’s a tough question, one that makes you squirm. It implies maybe you aren’t working hard enough, maybe you’re holding on too tight, maybe you’re never going to get there. You’ve heard all the stories about second-system syndrome; you have nightmares about the letters MVP (minimum viable product). The message is loud and clear. Eating glass and staring into the abyss of death is not too far from the truth.

But perhaps that is why the question is asked. Fear drives you and keeps you moving. Continually defending your product and plans requires you to think more deeply and question every aspect of what you are doing. It makes you patch the holes and rebuild the broken bits so that you ultimately feel more sure.

In some ways launching Luumin feels like we’ve reached the end-game, but we know it is only the beginning. One thing we have learnt from all the literature on how to manage your life is when you have something you want to achieve, the best thing to do is just to start. So this is our start:
